Prohibited Items & Merchants Policy
This policy explains what may and may not be sourced or purchased through Buyonder and applies to customers, Shoppers, merchants, and every shopping mission.
Permitted categories
Buyonder currently supports authentic apparel, footwear including sneakers, handbags, fashion accessories, belts, hats, scarves, eyewear, and comparable fashion items.
Permitted items must be sourced from established, verifiable retail merchants or from specifically approved authenticated resale merchants.
Prohibited products
The following products may not be sourced, requested, or purchased through Buyonder:
- Counterfeit, replica, stolen, fraudulent, or intellectual-property-infringing goods.
- Products outside Buyonder's supported fashion categories, unless expressly approved by Buyonder.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or defense items.
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, and prescription or nonprescription medicines.
- Alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, vaping, cannabis, or related products.
- Currency, cryptocurrency purchased as a product, bullion, securities, or other financial instruments.
- Gift cards, prepaid cards, stored value, money orders, or cash equivalents.
- Hazardous or regulated materials.
- Sexually explicit or adult products.
- Stolen identity documents or personal data.
- Ivory, endangered-species products, or unlawfully sourced animal products.
- Items that promote hate, violence, abuse, or criminal activity.
- Sanctions-restricted, export-controlled, import-prohibited, recalled, unsafe, illegal, or payment-provider-restricted goods.
Prohibited merchants and transaction types
The following merchants and transaction types are prohibited on Buyonder:
- Anonymous or unverified merchants.
- Peer-to-peer or private sellers, unless specifically approved under an authenticated resale program.
- Merchants that are unable to provide an itemized receipt or credible proof of sale.
- Suspected counterfeit or stolen-goods sellers.
- Disguised or misclassified transactions.
- Money transmission, cash access, manufactured spending, resale fraud, payment circumvention, or any attempt to bypass Buyonder's approval process or card controls.
An authenticated resale merchant may be permitted only after explicit approval by Buyonder.
Shopper and merchant vetting
Buyonder does not operate as an open seller marketplace and does not generally onboard third-party sellers. Products are sourced by verified Shoppers from established or verifiable retailers.
Before an approved purchase, Buyonder may review the merchant's identity and location, retail reputation, supported category, apparent product authenticity, price and availability, receipt practices, sanctions status, and compliance with payment-provider rules.
Shoppers are separately identity-verified and screened, and they act only within a mission-specific limited purchasing mandate.
Enforcement
Buyonder may reject or cancel a mission, freeze or revoke a purchasing card, request receipts or other documentation, suspend or terminate an account, and reverse or report activity where permitted or required by law.
Buyonder may cooperate with regulators, payment providers, card networks, or law enforcement when legally required to do so.
